Baldur’s Gate 3 fans have something to be excited about as the journey isn’t over yet. Even after Patch 7, which introduced mod support and new evil endings, Larian Studios has confirmed that more updates are on the way.
Michael Douse, the publishing director at Larian, recently shared some exciting news. While he’s keeping the details under wraps to avoid putting pressure on the development team, he assured players that they’re working on delivering new features.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has been a massive hit since its 2023 release. It’s not just commercially successful; it’s also critically acclaimed. The game won a prestigious Hugo Award for its outstanding narrative in sci-fi and fantasy. It also dominated The Game Awards, proving its widespread appeal.
The addition of mod support allows fans to expand the game’s already rich world. But it’s heartening to know that the official development team isn’t done yet. They’re still working on improvements and possibly new content, even though this will be their last project in the Baldur’s Gate series.
While we know that Larian Studios won’t be creating DLC, expansions, or a sequel for Baldur’s Gate 3, these upcoming updates are a welcome surprise. The studio’s founder, Swen Vincke, has stated that their next project will move away from the Dungeons & Dragons universe. So, these final touches to Baldur’s Gate 3 are something special for fans.
