Funko Fusion, the upcoming game from 10:10 Games, has just released a playable demo on Steam. This demo offers a unique experience where players can explore the eerie world of John Carpenter’s 1982 film “The Thing” with some surprising character choices.
Unexpected Heroes in a Familiar Setting
One of the most exciting additions to the game is Mega Man, Capcom’s iconic Blue Bomber. Players can now control this beloved character in the chilling environment of “The Thing.” But that’s not all – fans can also step into the shoes of Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy’s or even He-Man. These unconventional character choices add a fresh and intriguing layer to the gameplay experience.
The developers at 10:10 Games have been working on Funko Fusion for three years, and they’re eager for public feedback. This demo marks the first time the game has been available outside of limited convention demonstrations. The team encourages players to share their thoughts, both positive and negative, as they prepare for the game’s release on September 13.
A Pop Culture
Funko Fusion is shaping up to be a treasure trove for pop culture fans. The game will feature over 20 intellectual properties owned by NBCUniversal. Players can expect to see content from popular franchises like Jurassic World, Jaws, Back to the Future, Shaun of the Dead, and Battlestar Galactica, among others.
Early previews suggest that Funko Fusion draws inspiration from the beloved Lego games by Traveler’s Tales. However, it stands out with its diverse range of franchises, including some surprisingly mature content. From Jordan Peele’s “Nope” to Edgar Wright’s “Hot Fuzz,” the game offers a diverse range of experiences that players of any age can enjoy.
Funko Fusion will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Preorder bonuses include a character pack featuring Michonne and Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead. PC players on Steam will also receive a free Team Fortress 2 character pack, adding even more variety to this already eclectic mix of pop culture icons.
