LG made an early announcement of its gaming monitor lineup before the upcoming CES event. The highlight of the collection is LG’s UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor (45GX990A). It comes with a 45-inch screen and an impressive 5K2K resolution (5120×2160). This means it offers sharp 4K-quality vertical resolution, along with extra horizontal space for a wider and more immersive view.
Gaming and Productivity Excellence
The monitor’s 21:9 aspect ratio creates an optimal balance between gaming immersion and practical usage. Players benefit from enhanced gaming experiences compared to standard 16:9 screens, while maintaining better compatibility than wider 32:9 displays. The screen smoothly transitions between flat and curved positions, reaching up to 900R curvature. Users can easily switch between different resolution and refresh rate settings, adjust aspect ratios, and modify picture sizes through LG’s upgraded Dual-Mode feature. The display supports both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies.
LG introduced another 45-inch variant featuring a fixed 800R curve, maintaining identical specifications including aspect ratio and 5K2K resolution. Both monitors excel with a lightning-fast 0.03ms response time and include modern connectivity options, DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C supporting 90W power delivery. The 45GX950A incorporates RGWB subpixel technology, enhancing text clarity for improved productivity sessions.
The company expanded its lineup with the UltraGear 39GX90SA, a 39-inch curved display featuring built-in webOS functionality. This smart monitor doubles as an entertainment center, providing direct access to streaming platforms. It maintains the 21:9 aspect ratio and 800R curve of its larger siblings. The monitor includes USB Type-C connectivity and sports an L-shaped stand design, maximizing desk space while maintaining ergonomic benefits.
LG plans to reveal pricing details and specific launch dates later in 2025. The monitors will make their public debut at the upcoming CES event in Las Vegas, where technology enthusiasts can experience these displays firsthand alongside numerous other innovative screen technologies from various manufacturers.
