Retroid is now allowing Pocket Mini owners with shader issues to return their devices, but only under strict conditions. The return window is open from March 8-14, and only 200 international returns will be accepted. Customers also have to pay for shipping themselves. To make up for the issue, Retroid is giving all owners a $10 coupon, which can be used with other discounts on the upcoming Retroid Flip2 and Retroid Classic.
Retroid released a statement about the RP Mini screen issue:
– March 8-14 return window for those affected
– Returns capped to 200 units to limit a flood of returns for unrelated reasons
– Asking customer to pay return shipping

Technical Problem
Since the Pocket Mini launched last fall, many users have struggled with shader issues. The problem mostly affects games using CRT shaders, causing uneven scanlines, pixel glitches, and slight image distortion. After looking into it, Retroid confirmed that the issue can’t be fixed because it’s tied to the screen driver.
Limited Return Policy
Before this update, many customers had their return requests rejected. In a Discord message over the weekend, Retroid admitted that the return program is expensive for them, saying, “This is a large and costly endeavor for our team.” They also asked users who don’t rely much on CRT shaders or pixel grid effects to let others who really need a return take advantage of the offer.
It’s disappointing for customers who bought the Pocket Mini expecting full shader support. Retroid is offering a solution, but with such a short return window and limited spots, many users might be left out. The technical issue makes sense, but better quality control could have avoided this problem in the first place.
