Sony Fixes a Long-Standing PlayStation Store Issue for PS5 and PS4 Users

Sony has finally fixed a frustrating issue with the PlayStation Store that has been bothering PS5 and PS4 users for a long time. While Sony frequently updates the PS5 and PS5 Pro, the PlayStation Store itself rarely gets major improvements beyond the usual weekly sales. Because of this, users have had to deal with outdated or broken features for far too long, but that’s finally changing.

PlayStation fans can finally get wishlist notifications on the PS App! Until now, this feature was completely broken, players could add PS4 and PS5 games to their wishlists, but they never got alerts when those games went on sale. This made the wishlist pretty much useless, forcing players to manually check for discounts on the games they wanted.

The Fix Has Arrived

According to PSLS, Sony resolved this issue in an update released alongside this week’s new PS Store deals. The wishlist notification system now works properly, alerting users when games on their wishlist go on sale.

I’m not sure if Sony fixed this on purpose, but it seems likely. The bigger question is whether the fix will last. Since PlayStation Store support hasn’t been great in the past, it’s hard to feel confident that this won’t break again.

Important Note for Users

This fix applies specifically to those using the PS App, not to people using the web version of the PlayStation Store or the PS Store built directly into PS4 and PS5 consoles.

This update may be small, but it’s an important fix for PlayStation users. It finally solves a problem that’s been frustrating many of us for a long time.
